FCL Spotlight: Silverman’s Farm
With the start of Fall on Friday, what better way to enjoy it than with some apple picking. Silverman’s Farm is located in Easton, CT and has been there since the 1920s. The farm has pick your own apples, fresh pressed cider, market with florist, petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin picking and so on.
To get to the orchard, you take a short tractor ride, up the hill, from the market area. Along the way you pass rows and rows of apple trees.
The apples from Silverman’s are awesome. They have a wide variety with everything from red delicious to empires to macintoshes. The staff is knowledgeable about different apples for eating and cooking, as well as picking technique.
This is the bounty of apples we hauled in. As you can, we got a wide variety of magnificently colored apples. Silverman’s apple picking is an activity for all. Whether you’re 2 or 92, you’ll have a blast picking and eating. Here at the FCL, we recommmend hitting up Silverman’s for some apples and cider. It’s definitely worth it.
